Summer Internship1 December 2019 – 1 March 2020
A Summer Internship is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity to serve Jesus and his church and be trained and discipled by experienced ministry leaders. This is more than training—it’s an invitation to grow in your love and knowledge of God, increase your dependence on the Holy Spirit, and further the mission of Jesus. All internships are non-paid and go for 3 months: 1 December 2019 – 1 March 2020. We do however, provide all course materials, books, and training aides!
TRAINING & EQUIPPING
You’ll receive quality training by skilled teachers, pastors, and ministry staff. But more than head knowledge, you’ll also get hands-on experience in various aspects of ministry, serving alongside our Ministry Apprentices and experienced leaders to help advance God’s kingdom here in Auckland.
DISCIPLESHIP & GROWTH
You’ll have opportunities to engage with God personally and profoundly through regular discipleship and personalized growth plans. This is not for the faint of heart. You will be challenged your understanding of God, stretched in your character to be more like Jesus, and grown in your skills and abilities to serve Jesus!
STRUCTURE & FLEXIBILITY
You have room to grow. You’ll thrive in an atmosphere that provides the structure needed for discipleship and the flexibility needed to change, be creative, and discover who God has designed you to be. The internships are 3 days per week, Monday 9am-4pm (Training Day), Sunday 9am-8:30pm, and another 7 hours reading and prep time spread throughout the week, giving you some time to earn some summer cash if you need to. Each intern MUST have one 24 hour day off per week to ensure good rest and rejuvenation in serving Jesus with Auckland Ev. It is also required to come to the full Equip Conference Wednesday 1 January 2020 – Saturday 4 Jan 2020. This is paid for by Auckland Ev.
Each intern has a program tailor-made for them and their training context, but the three broad areas addressed in all programs are training in the three ‘C’s:
- Christian conviction
- Christian character
- Competence in the work of Christian ministry
These three areas are further divided into eight key learning areas, as shown in the table below

|2. Thinking theologically|
|3. Prayer and godliness|
